What is the Best Niche for Affiliate Marketing? YOUR Niche!

What is the Best Niche for Affiliate Marketing? YOUR Niche!

What is the best niche for affiliate marketing? YOUR niche, of course: the niche that you know oh-so well. There are 3.6 billion or so of us on the planet surfin’ the ‘net and looking for things that interest us. Do you believe that a handful of these people might need or want what you want or what you know about? Oh yeah!

What are You Passionate About?what is the best niche for affiliate marketing_your niche

When I was a kid growing up in the ’70s, I loved collecting stamps. I had a couple of books for placing the stamps, and each section was dedicated to a country.

So I started out finding all of the stamps I could from all the countries around the world and started filling up the books.

My love for stamp collecting went away when I got into my late teens. Still, it really intrigued me how stamps could be wonderful pieces of art and massed produced. It was also a fun learning experience about the people who were featured on each stamp and all of the history that went along with it.

I look back now and I think that if I had the time and knowledge, and if the internet had existed, I probably would have created a website about stamp collecting. That would have been a great way to document my experience and to help others to find stamps that they needed. I would gush about the history of collecting and of the people, and I know that others would have found it fascinating as well.

Not Everyone Likes What You Like

But I know that stamp collecting would be boring for a large set of people. THAT is the beauty of what is available to us today: we can communicate with an entire group of stamp collectors all across the world, and that only represents a small fraction of all of the people on the internet!  This is what defines a ‘niche’ in this sense: a select group of people interested in the same thing, or the same market.

According to Wikipedia, there are thousands of stamp collecting organizations in the world today, which means that there are multiple thousands of passionate collectors around the globe. Sure, stamp production is on the decline in this digital world, but it (and the people who hold the passion for collecting) are not going to go away anytime soon.

The Formula For Success in Niche Marketing

  1. Find the Right Audience
    1. A specific group of people with a need
  2. Have a very good understanding of exactly what that need is
    1. What desire burns in the hearts of these people?
  3. Bring them a Solution
    1. Your product or the product that you represent

Where is Your Area of Expertise?

Do you collect stamps? Or do you have a passion regarding weight loss? What topic really fires you up? What category or hobby or are you thinking about right now that is very much a part of you?

Think about what burns in your heart and the area you can gain (or already have) the knowledge necessary for a plan of action for the Formula for Success above. Start thinking if this is right for you.

Who is Your Favorite Group of People?

Can you see yourself becoming an authority or an expert for the area of your passion? Do you see yourself communicating yourwordpress-website-layouts passion to your favorite group of people within this passion? Being seen as trustworthy, a leader in the niche as well as an authority with the information, is directly tied to your ability to grow the traffic that comes your way because of your hard work.

Knowing how to communicate your solution to the known need of a person in your niche is key to conversions.

Keep Asking Yourself the Questions

You’ll have successfully found the right niche when you can answer the questions in the Formula for Success above. Have you found the right audience, a specific set of people with a need, for your website? Do you understand exactly what they need, and are you prepared to deliver those products?

Do people spend money in the area of your passion? Can you bring the right solution to them, whether you are an affiliate (helping to sell product from other companies for a commision) or whether you actually are selling the product?

In other words, can I monetize this passion? Are there products out there that these people are looking for, or should I be looking at a different niche? Can I offer them links to ebooks and physical books on these subjects? Can I make money from writing my own eBook?? Can I make money from advertisers who will appeal to this audience?

Find Your Sub-Niche

Is it possible that your favorite group of people isn’t the right audience? Ask yourself if you can understand, communicate and be able to supply their needs.  In many cases, the audience is too broad and so a subset of your audience becomes the right one. For example, sports apparel is a rather large niche. Maybe it’s better to serve a subset of that niche with runner’s apparel or with football jerseys.

Or, like in the stamp collecting example, flower or animal stamps could be a sub-niche.

Choose what you know or can have passion for. It is much easier to establish yourself as an authority in a narrow niche. And the passion that you have on the subject will most definitely show. Passion not only helps to drive you to learn and serve your audience, it shows. This is how you rise above the competition.

Become the Leader of the Niche

The internet is full of sites that make money. Those that do are the leaders in their niche. People want to feel great about a website before they’ll ever spend their money. And so trust is a must (or your game is a bust [is what we used to say at the bowling alley]). You’ll begin delivering this trust as you offer their needed information and products, and as you can relate with them with personalized comment responses and your assurances that you do understand what they need.

People want to assure themselves that they’ve found a place that thinks like they do, a place they know agrees with their point of view.

So, study what your group of people are all about and what their needs and complaints are about the niche. Deliver solutions. Become the site that is talked about within the niche.

Take a stand and let your point of view be known about the niche. People know and appreciate a strong opinion, and you’ll find that many people will agree with you.

Gather the Tools of the Trade

The tools of this trade are simple: A website, keywords and time.

See about the website and time below. Let’s talk keywords:

Research the keywords and key phrases that your niche are searching. Type the questions into Google and watch the suggestions populate below what you typed. Begin a list of these so you can begin a plan for the articles and reviews that you are going to write.

I think you touch on a very important point here.

i know people in the past that wanted to go into the business of working online.

Yes they all love that dream of being their own boss, wake up when you want. I am sure you know the dream i am talking about? 🙂

The problem is, a lot of people do this and they tend to follow guidelines and try to do it on a subject they know little about! How can you sustain that? YOU CANT!

It is important to choose a subject or a niche that you are either good at or interested in. This makes things a lot easier and less frustrating.

I think what you say about the audience is important too. They are the most important segment of your business, and you need to be able to communicate with them.

How can you do that if you do not know what you are really talking about? Again YOU CANT!

I think you offer some great advice there that will hopefully send people in the right direction!

    Many thanks

      Hi Chris–

I really hope so, too. It’s just so important to me to try and direct people towards success. Although any sincere effort is really never wasted, since what you write on the internet may help someone down the road, it’s just too easy to burn out.

So to avoid burn out, the deep passion or knowledge on a subject is sorely needed. And then, why make any effort at all unless you plan to succeed? And by succeed I mean to give your utmost effort and to be satisfied that you have.

The ability to follow this formula can lead to personal and financial freedom, but this statement sounds all rosy as if personal and financial freedom was all that there is in life. It’s certainly not. But you can’t serve yourself and the ones that you love very well until you find this personal freedom.

The sort of freedom is earned and is not a birthright (for the vast majority on earth). You can’t be refined without going through the fire, and it’s the process of going through the fire of working with this particular successful formula that will see you through.

So, thanks so much for your comments and for stopping by. I think you really get this.

great article, I am new in affiliate marketing and learning about affiliate marketing and SEO tips. I have over viewed you other posts as well sounds very informative. I have some question could you please look into them and provide your suggestions on them?

I am thinking to make an affiliate website like coupons or cashback because I have some basic information about these affiliate marketing types and now I want to make a website on one of them. One of my friend recommend me revglue’s revembed technology ” revglue.com/blog-detail/5-how-to-setup-a-uk-discount-voucher-website-in-ten-minutes ” for this purpose as its a uk base registered company but i am little confused while using it because its a new website. If anyone has a experience with it.

Secondly how to I can choose best name for my website?
What is the best place to buy domain name and hosting services?

Please help me in this respect. Looking forward for your response and thanks in advance.

Hey Alex, thanks for stopping by, and thanks for the kind words. I hope I can keep writing stuff that you like to read.

After doing a small amount of research on Revglue, I find it POSSIBLY very useful to become successful in niche marketing, but here’s what I don’t see with them: help understanding how to be successful.

Sure, they’re marketing that they’re taking all of the technical stuff out of the way and making drag-and-drop look like a savior, but…

They look like they provide some really great tools for the marketer that has a plan, but I’d be wary and do more research and find comments and reviews from people who have worked with them before.

I don’t see them as being helpful for people new to affiliate marketing. They may be, but this looks like a business model for them to be making money by offering to bypass your technical difficulties.

The technical details of the site was found here at https://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/revglue.com

It could work out for you, but here’s my first suggestion: Wealthy Affiliate. If anything, joining WA gives you the only comprehensive affiliate marketing basics course available on the internet.

Here’s why I recommend it to you, though, in your situation. WA is a complete domain and website host as well as an online marketing college. Use them for any and all of it. This is my answer to the question about the best place to buy a domain name and hosting services. I have 14 domain names and 10 current websites happening at the moment with WA. The max allowed is 50 websites for the price of membership (25 mydomain.com sites and 25 siterubix.mydomain.com sites).

You can’t find this anywhere other than WA.

You could still use Revglue with WA webhosting if you chose to. Use WA for the education and for the hosting.

How can you choose the best domain name? There are a few different schools of thought, but this is the one that I think makes the most sense: choose a name that is going to be memorable for your audience. The search value for the domain name is a very small part compared to page titles and content that is relative to the page title and keywords.

Here is more info on the technical info about domains and websites, if it’s helpful.

Here’s another niche website master that I recommend learning from. Dom Wells, founder of Human Proof Designs. He builds niche websites for people and then sells them. Very experienced.

I hope I’ve helped a little. Take care.

    Hey Steve,
Thanks for the posting. Affiliate programs are really very helpful to make money.
Actually I want to get some help about affiliate data feeds.
I checked a lot of affiliate websites which provide affiliate data feeds so now I have also made a plan to build my own affiliate website where people can get affiliate data feeds.
I am confused about the websites which offer handsome commission on Affiliate data feeds.
Last month I found a UK based website which provides UK affiliate stores coupons and mobile comparison data in an iframe on 80% commission under the name RevEmbed Technology revglue(.)com/publisher/revembed.
If you have any idea or experience about this website. Please share with me. This will help me.

      Hi James–

I never knew specifically about data feeds. But in my research, I understood it to be a road of MINOR importance in the travel towards true affiliate independence. I think that this article from Kyle probably says it all best: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kyle/blog/why-i-don-t-care-much-about-data

I know it’s not a direct answer to your question, but my direct answer is that data feeds and interest in website data, etc. is a distraction from truly building your online business. I’d suggest focusing on doing things that build your business:

        creating content
        building web pages
        building sites
        research keywords and niches
        understanding my audiences

Someone may truly find data feeds to be lucrative, but I doubt that’s where the ‘glory’ is.
